The test shall be carried out at an ambient temperature of 20°C±5°C. Place the battery with a thermocouple (the contact of the thermocouple is fixed on the large surface of the battery) in a fume cupboard, and pierce the center of the largest surface of the battery with a non-corrosive rust-free steel needle of 2-8mm in diameter at the speed of 10mm/s-40mm/s and keep it in place for 5 seconds.
